To earn Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), he completed over 500 hours of coursework in implant, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry. Dr. Kobak has gathered a group of dedicated, friendly, and empathetic oral health professionals, including hygienists, dental assistants, and dental office administrative assistants to care for his patients.

A filling repairs a small to medium sized area of tooth decay. A crown covers the entire structure of a tooth above the gum line. What happens if a cavity is too extensive for a filling to restore, but placing a dental crown would be excessive? In these situations, Dr. Kobak places an inlay or onlay.

What Are Inlays and Onlays?

White Inlays & Onlays: Inlays and onlays are dental restorations made in a lab, usually from porcelain. You may hear an inlay or onlay referred to as a partial crown or ¾ crown. Inlays fit in between the cusps of a tooth, while an onlay can extend around a cusp and down the side of a tooth. By administering inlays and onlays, Dr. Kobak provides a conservative restoration whenever possible.
